World Series of Poker

World Series of Poker is considered as the most prominent tournament of poker game across the world. This poker tournament was first played in the year 1970 and became popular since from that period. This tournament was also played in the year 2004 in which the most popular game of poker, Texas Holdem’ was played and about $5 million was set as a prize for the winner.

More than 6,000 players participate in this poker tournament which is known as World Series of Poker. The World Series of Poker has been won by Crandall Addington who has been placed 8 times in the top ten of these series of poker. This record is still maintained by him till now.

World Series of Poker tournaments have been always taken place at Binion’s Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas at Nevada . But now the location for these tournaments has been changed. Now, these tournaments will be held at Rio Las Vegas. If one has to see all the stories and results of this event which was held in the year 2004 can see at 2004 World Series of Poker.

In these events, numbers of tournaments are held which includes various types of poker games like Omaha , Texas Holdem, Stud Poker and Razz. Hi-Low split and Lowball poker games are also played in this tournament. Each winner in this tournament is awarded with a gold bracelet.

So, there are some rules for World Series of Poker which one should follow. The most important rule to follow in this tournament is age restriction. All the players and viewers should be 21 years old. Other World Series of Poker rules to be followed in this tournament are:-

  • All the players should be on the poker tables at the appropriate time before placing the cards on the poker table. If the player is not on time, then the hand of the player is not considered to be valid.

  • When a pot is opened and the player gets an odd number of chips, then this old chip will be given to the player having the high hand. If the player is having more than one hand, then the person who is sitting to the left of the button will get the old chip.

  • If the player raises for an amount of 50% or more of the prior bet, then the player makes a full raise which is equal to lowest raise.

  • It is compulsory for the players to keep their high value chips open all the times.

  • All players are advised not to show their cards during the playing of the game to other players and verbally advise them not to discuss about their cards.
