Poker Terms

The increasing and large terminology of poker contains many terms. There are various terms used while playing poker game in casinos. So, the different poker terms used are:-

Active Player – A player that is still involved in a hand.

Aces Up – It includes two pair – one is a pair of Aces and the other is any other pair.

All Pink – When the player contains either hearts or diamonds.

Aggressive Action – A gambling that permits a player to win a pot without a bet, showdown or raise.

Ante – An approved amount placed before beginning of a hand by all the players.

All Blue – When the player contains either spades or clubs.

Action – It is one of the activities of betting which includes check, bet, fold, call or raise. For example, showing of cards after completing the hand or if the player shows the number of cards he is winning at draw.

All-In – When the player puts all the money and chips into the pot while playing the hand, then the players says all-in

Bet – This means putting the money in the pot according to the rules of the game.

Bad Beat – A hand that was beaten by another hand and had very less chance of winning the hand.

Back Door – When the player makes a hand by not actually drawing.

Big Blind – This means a full first betting round and the largest regular blind in the game.

Back Raise – This means raising the raise of other players.

Blank – A card having small price to the hand.

Bluff – A raise or bet with a hand which is done to beat the opponent.

Button – A player who is in the nominated position of the dealer

Boxed Card – This means a card which emerges face upwards in the deck and all other cards are facing downwards.

Button Games – When the player uses the dealer button in the game.

Buy-In – The least amount of money which is required to penetrate any game.

Broken Game – A game that is no longer in action.

Check – This means the player should not bet with the alternative to raise or call later in the round of betting.

Cards Speak – This means the face value of a hand in a showdown inspite of a spoken declaration.

Cold Call – When the player calls a bet or multiple bets for the first time in a round.

Dead Hand – When the player does not legally play a hand.

Flop – When the first three community cards are arranged at the same time.

Heads-Up Play – When only two players are involved in playing game.

LowBall – When the lowest hand wins in a poker game.
